New Life Family Christian Center has a unique story on how it was founded by Pastor James Fumbanks II. In 2013, Elder Fumbanks and his family relocated to Virginia, where they fellowshipped with various churches, but God never released them to join any particular church. Soon, Elder Fumbanks sought to start prayer meetings in the Stafford, Virginia area. In the process of negotiating meeting room space with a local facility, Elder Fumbanks and his wife received a phone call from a Pastor and wife from their hometown IL, stating that they had received an urgent prayer request over the prayer line they hosted. That particular night, a minister who belonged to a church in Alexandria, VA made her prayer request known to God. The church she was affiliated with had been without a shepherd for three years, and they were in search of a new leader. Unbeknownst to Pastor Fumbanks and his wife, God was bringing prophecy to pass in their lives.

 

In 2014, Elder Fumbanks accepted the appointment as Sr. Pastor, and was officially installed by Pastor Kimberly Ray-Gavin on November 14, 2014.

In May of 2017, the church’s name was officially changed to New Life Family Christian Center, inspired by the Word of the Lord in II Corinthians 5:17 that says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

We believe there is no life that cannot be changed by the power of our Almighty God. We are forever grateful to the Lord as He continuously and progressively performs miracles of healing, deliverance and blessings.
